Labor Day weekend is the unofficial last big weekend of summer. One more road trip. One more beach day. One more backyard BBQ. And, obviously, your dog is invited.
Whether you’re heading out of town or doing absolutely nothing for three days, here are a few ways to make the long weekend better for your favorite four-legged plus-one.
Pack for Them, Too
If your dog is coming along for the weekend, give them their own bag. Food, treats, leash, bowls, medications, favorite toy and something familiar to sleep on.
Bringing a clean dog bed sheet or cover from home can make an unfamiliar hotel, Airbnb or family member’s house feel a little more like their space.

Plan for the Mess
Labor Day dogs tend to come home carrying evidence.
